The salmon of Alaska ,,, This cuff is a negative etch where the salmon are etched into the brass instead of raised. This is a unique etching process that doesn't use any acids but gives a nice deep cut. This cuff is just over a half inch wide and is available in both a woman's and a man's size. You have the choice of two beautiful finishes.
Matte Silver Finish:
After etching and finishing, the piece is electroplated with 500 mils of sterling silver, a slight oxidation and a protective finish. Most silver plate is only 10 to 20 mils thick, making this at least 25 times thicker! This process is a nickel free process. The result is a gorgeous matte super durable silver finish. Take care of your piece just like any other silver jewelry you have. Keep it a cool dry airtight box, bag or the packaging it comes with. You can use a silver polishing cloth or sterling silver cleaner but all your really need is a clean soft cloth.
Antique Matte Brass Finish
After the piece is forged, we darken it with a brown black oxidizer but then remove almost all of it, leaving just enough oxidation to bring out the details of the design. We finish up by giving it a light lacquer to keep it looking beautiful. Like the silver finish, just care for this piece as you would any other jewelry. You can use a polishing cloth or clean cloth or even give it a light buff with a nail file.
