The Salmon of Alaska are running on this wide cuff. We used a negative etch on this one where the salmon are etched into the brass instead of raised. This is a unique etching process that doesn't use any acids but gives a nice deep cut.
The cuff is 1.13" wide and 6" long. This size fits most women. We can make longer by custom order. We also do a salmon cuff in a 1/2" size which is available in both a womens and mens size. Matte Silver Finish:
After etching and finishing, the piece is electroplated with 500 microinches of sterling silver, a slight oxidation and a protective finish. Most silver plate is only 10 to 20 microinches thick, making this at least 25 times thicker! This process is a nickel free process. The result is a gorgeous matte super durable silver finish. Take care of your piece just like any other silver jewelry you have. Keep it a cool dry airtight box, bag or the packaging it comes with. You can use a silver polishing cloth or sterling silver cleaner but all your really need is a clean soft cloth.
Antique Matte Brass Finish
After the piece is forged, we darken it with a brown black oxidizer but then remove almost all of it, leaving just enough oxidation to bring out the details of the design. We finish up by giving it a light lacquer to keep it looking beautiful. Like the silver finish, just care for this piece as you would any other jewelry. You can use a polishing cloth or clean cloth or even give it a light buff with a nail file.
