This is a very unique Montana necklace with three layers of mountains, a few trees and an eagle. We start with raw brass, form and forget the piece and then etch our Montana landscape design using our unique acid-free etching technique. This one is slightly smaller Montana measuring approx .75" x 1.25". It is available on a cable chain that is adjustable up to 18" or on our cord with a slide bead that allows you wear it any length up to 30". The cord is a monofilament and we use black for the silver pieces and brown for the brass pieces.
Its available in two great finishes:
Matte Silver Finish:
After etching and finishing, the piece is electroplated with 500 microinches of sterling silver, a slight oxidation and a protective finish. Most silver plate is only 10 to 20 microinches thick, making this at least 25 times thicker! This process is a nickel free process. The result is a gorgeous matte super durable silver finish. Take care of your piece just like any other silver jewelry you have. Keep it a cool dry airtight box, bag or the packaging it comes with. You can use a silver polishing cloth or sterling silver cleaner but all your really need is a clean soft cloth.
Antique Brass Finish
After the piece is etched and cleaned up, we darken it with a brown black oxidizer but then remove almost all of it, leaving just enough oxidation to bring out the details of the design. We finish up by giving it a light lacquer to keep it looking beautiful. The chain is a antique brass cable chain.
